Say it Out Loud

texture-2115749_1920“Delay is the deadliest form of denial”.

C. Northcote Parkinson 1909-1993

When the rain doesn’t come
And the winds never stop
When the grain can’t be grown
And the fruit always drops
Then you can say it loud
That you still don’t believe it’s really our fault.

There’s a place you can go to delay your true thoughts
The denial is rich so your world will not stop
Then you can say it loud
That you still don’t believe it’s really our fault

When the child in the street
That you see everyday
Looks you in the eyes
And says…”If you want I can eat”
But again you delay
Then you can say it loud
That you still don’t believe it’s really our fault

When the last of the trees and the forests have gone
To again supply you with the logs for your homes
And the lives that have lived in the wilderness for so long
Have died and forever will never be seen
Then again you can delay and say it loud
That you still don’t believe it’s really our fault

As your world is crushed under all of the greed
And the last of the farms
And their precious seed
Are buried beneath the terrible storms
Then again you can delay and say it loud
That you still don’t believe it’s really our fault
